Eefje Plet: Young Para Swimmer Finishes 5th at 2023 World Para Swimming Championships

Dutch Paralympic swimmer Eefje Plet has finished 5th in the 50m freestyle final at the 2023 World Para Swimming Championships in Manchester.

Plet, 19, set a new personal best time of 33.90 seconds.

This is the second time that Plet has competed at the World Para Swimming Championships. In 2019, she finished 7th in the 50m freestyle.

The 2023 World Para Swimming Championships are taking place in Manchester, England from 29th August to 4th September.

Over 600 swimmers from 65 countries are competing in the championships.

The championships are the biggest Para swimming event since the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Plet is one of several Dutch swimmers competing at the championships.

She is a member of the Dutch national Para swimming team.

Plet trains at the University of Amsterdam.
